Q: What are the age requirements for admission qualifications?
A: Age requirements are imposed on the following people for admission qualifications.
- A person who is recognized through individual admission qualification assessment as having academic abilities
University: 18 years or older
Graduate school (excluding medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutical sciences (clinical), or veterinary medical science): 22 years or older
Graduate school (medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutical sciences (clinical), or veterinary medical science): 24 years or older
Graduate school (second half (koki) of Doctoral program): 24 years or older
- A person who has passed academic qualification examination deemed equivalent to the completion of 12 years of school education in foreign countries
University: 18 years or older (17 years or older in the case of early admission)
In addition, if a person under the age of 18 meets the requirements for passing the Upper Secondary School Entrance Qualification Examination, they will be considered a successful candidate on their 18th birthday and will be eligible for university admission. However, if early admission is permitted, the person is eligible for university admission at the age of 17.
