The National Information Center for Academic Recognition Japan (NIC-Japan) held an online seminar entitled "Vietnamese Education System and Recognition of Foreign Qualifications" on September 27, 2024 (Friday).

As part of its activities to provide information that contributes to the smooth recognition of higher education qualifications for the purpose of improving the international mobility of students and academics, NIC-Japan has been holding the "NIC-Japan Seminar Series" since 2021, in which experts from Japan and overseas discuss various topics related to recognition of foreign qualifications, such as examples of such qualifications and education systems.

This seminar was held as the second seminar on Vietnamese education system, following the first seminar on Vietnamese education system held in December 2021. The lecture was given by Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Bich, Director of Vietnam National Academic Recognition Information Centre (VN-NARIC), Education Quality Management Agency, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), and Ms. Pham Khanh Huyen, an expert from the center, as in the previous seminar. The seminar was attended by approximately 170 participants, mainly faculty and staff members involved in admissions and international affairs at universities and other institutions inside and outside Japan.

At the beginning of the event, Professor MORI Rie, the Executive Director of NIC-Japan gave an opening address with expressions of gratitude toward the lecturers and expectations for the seminar.

In the lecture, Ms. Bich and Ms. Huyen gave explanations on the qualifications required for entering Vietnamese higher education programs, which had generated a high level of interest at the previous seminar, using samples of qualifications. They also gave comprehensive explanations on the workflow and challenges of the recognition of foreign qualifications conducted by VN-NARIC.

The lecture was followed by Q&A session, which involved lively interactions between participants and the lecturers, and the event ended on a high note.
