From October 2-5, 2023, TAICEP2023 Annual Conference was held in Redondo Beach, California (USA). Dr. HOTTA Taiji, Senior Advisor, and one administrative staff from NIC-Japan participated in the conference.

The Association of International Credential Evaluation Professionals (TAICEP), founded in 2013, is a membership organization dedicated to the evaluation of international qualifications and has held annual conferences since 2015. This year's conference was held face-to-face under the theme of "TAICEP at 10 Years; Our Impact Continues. What Next?," celebrating the association's 10^th anniversary. The members representing higher education institutions, independent evaluation agencies, government ministries, ENIC/NARIC offices, examination boards, awarding bodies, etc. from around the world have participated. Two pre-conference workshops and 46 sessions were held on various themes relating to theory and practice of foreign credential evaluations, country-specific education systems, professions of credential evaluations, etc. provoking lively discussions.

NIC-Japan has been participating in the TAICEP conference continuously and in 2020 and 2021, when the conference was held online due to COVID-19, presented in the virtual sessions to introduce NIC-Japan as well as to the Japanese higher education system and qualifications. This year, we gave a presentation for the first time face-to-face with the title "The System of Medical Education and Qualifications in Japan and Discussion on the Future Directions of NIC-Japan Under the Two UNESCO Conventions", learned from pre-workshops and other sessions, and connected with other participants.

The next TAICEP meeting is scheduled to be held from October 28-31, 2024 in Quebec City, Canada.
