 Report: Opening Ceremony for National Information Center for Academic Recognition Japan

Activities

In commemoration of the establishment of National Information Center for Academic Recognition Japan, an opening ceremony was held on September 2, 2019 in Tokyo, in order to promote better understanding of the purpose, mission and work of the Center as well as the Tokyo Convention. More than 130 people attended the event.

Representatives of the Center explained the background of its establishment, the purpose and the roles of the Center, and introduced the website. In addition, Mr. Shigeru Aoyagi, the Director of the Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, UNESCO Bangkok, gave a commemorative lecture titled "The Tokyo Convention? A new era for mobility and internationalization of higher education". In the lecture, he introduced the current situation and challenges of the student mobility in Asia-Pacific region and expectations for the Tokyo Convention, NICs and development of the NIC network.
